ECI Advises Political Parties To Maintain Decorum In Public Campaigns

The ECI warned Political Parties that stringent actions will be executed against those who violate the MCC directly or indirectly and fail to maintain decorum in public campaigns.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant move, the Election Commission of India on Friday notified Political Parties to follow the Model Code of Conduct in Public Campaigns or else stringent actions will be taken.

The ECI warned Political Parties that stringent actions will be executed against those who violate the MCC directly or indirectly and fail to maintain decorum in public campaigns. 

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in April or May to elect the members of the 18th Lok Sabha assembly. Moreover, the ECI will likely release the schedule for the general election in March.
