External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday reaffirmed India’s uncompromising stance on cross-border terrorism and its diplomatic dealings with Pakistan. Speaking in New Delhi, Jaishankar made it unequivocally clear that any future dialogue with Islamabad will focus strictly on the issue of terrorism, in line with the vision laid out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“PM Modi has made it very clear—talks with Pakistan will be only on terrorism,” Jaishankar stated, addressing questions on India's foreign policy direction. “This is a national consensus that has been in place for many years. There is absolutely no change in that.”

Referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the deaths of several Indian security personnel, Jaishankar emphasized India’s swift and decisive response. “On the morning of May 7, we held them accountable through Operation Sindoor,” he said, describing the counter-operation as a demonstration of India’s resolve to protect its sovereignty.
