DG bans expensive farewell parties

BY A Staff Reporter: Director general of police, Maharashtra, Reshmi Shukla, has banned expensive farewell parties of officers on routine transfers. In a pathbreaking circular issued to all district superintendents of police, Commissioners and other senior police officers, Shukla mentioned that farewell parties where officers wear colourful turban, is showered with flowers while his colleagues escort him out of the police station is hereby banned. ``When these videos are posted in social media either by officers or their aides, they unnecessarily become a topic of jokes and gossip and are also against rules and discipline of service." the circular stated. Reshmi Shukla has warned of strict action against violators.
