NEW DELHI – With the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections approaching, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav held a joint media interaction in the Kirari Assembly constituency, where they took sharp digs at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Kejriwal emphasized AAP’s track record over the past decade while accusing BJP of running a negative campaign. "People know that we have done a lot of work in the last 10 years, but we still need to do many more things. We have a planning, a team, and a leadership, but they (BJP) neither have the CM face nor an agenda. They keep abusing Kejriwal, but that will not help anyone," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav, extending his party’s support to AAP, echoed Kejriwal’s remarks, stating that BJP’s politics is based on allegations rather than development. "The people of Delhi are aware of who has worked for them. The focus should be on governance, not just empty rhetoric," Yadav remarked.
AAP, which has been in power in Delhi since 2015, is banking on its governance model, particularly in education, healthcare, and electricity subsidies, to secure another term. Meanwhile, BJP, which has intensified its attacks on Kejriwal over corruption allegations, is yet to declare a chief ministerial candidate for the polls.
