Delhi Government to Offer ₹5,000 Monthly Aid for Individuals with Disabilities

New Delhi — In a significant move to support individuals with disabilities, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj announced at a press conference that the Delhi government has decided to provide financial assistance of ₹5,000 per month to those with high specialized needs. This decision was reached during a recent Cabinet meeting, reflecting the government's commitment to enhancing the welfare of its citizens with disabilities.

Bharadwaj stated, "Tomorrow, it was decided in the Cabinet meeting that the Delhi government will provide financial assistance of ₹5,000 per month to the people with high specialized needs." This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on individuals who often face additional challenges due to their disabilities.

The minister also shared that the registration process for beneficiaries will commence shortly. Individuals with a disability percentage of over 60%, as certified by their doctors, will be eligible for this financial aid. "We will soon start the registration process for those who have more than 60 per cent disability on their health certificate approved by their doctors," Bharadwaj explained.

This new assistance program is expected to significantly impact the lives of many families, providing them with essential financial support to manage their unique needs.
