New Delhi — Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced immediate action to implement the Ayushman Bharat health scheme in Delhi, emphasizing the urgency to recover lost time and provide timely healthcare benefits to the city’s residents. Addressing a press briefing, Gupta said her government held a crucial meeting to fast-track the distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards and ensure efficient execution.

“To implement Ayushman Bharat, which Delhi has received after years of waiting, we held a meeting today to ensure that all the cards are made and reach the public as soon as possible,” she stated. “All the MLAs have been assigned the task, and work will begin immediately to identify the locations for 1,139 Arogya Mandirs.”

These Arogya Mandirs, akin to local health and wellness centers, are aimed at decentralizing healthcare access by being set up in every corner of the capital. Gupta strongly criticized previous administrations for delaying health reforms, noting that her government is committed to fast, visible action.

“We do not want more time to be wasted. Our government will start working on this today,” she said.
