New Delhi: Chief Minister Atishi expressed pride in the ongoing advancements of the Delhi Metro, particularly the ambitious Phase Four expansion, during her visit to the Mukundpur depot. Speaking about the milestone, she said, "It is a matter of great pride that the trains for Phase Four Metro, spanning 186 km, have started arriving. This six-car driverless train will operate on the Magenta Line and is currently undergoing full testing."

Atishi highlighted that Delhi Metro remains the only metro system in India operating driverless trains, emphasizing their high safety standards and rapid expansion over the past decade. "Delhi Metro has been reaching every corner of the city, and this progress reflects the city's commitment to sustainable and efficient urban mobility," she added.

Switching focus to the pressing issue of air pollution, CM Atishi criticized the inadequate implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in neighboring NCR states, including Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. "The truth is that GRAP is not implemented at all in these states. For effective pollution control, these regions must adopt GRAP measures in full earnest," she said.

Atishi also called on the central government to address the root cause of seasonal smog by curbing stubble burning in states like Punjab and Haryana. "Without decisive intervention from the Centre to stop stubble burning, the fog enveloping North India will persist, affecting millions," she warned.

Her remarks underscore Delhi’s proactive measures to combat air pollution while urging collective responsibility from regional and national authorities for a cleaner and healthier environment.
