Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has raised serious concerns about the misuse of international financial aid to Pakistan, highlighting that the government in Islamabad has announced plans to provide financial assistance to rebuild terror infrastructure in Muridke and Bahawalpur. These locations are associated with the terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, both designated by the United Nations as terrorist groups.

Singh pointed out that a significant portion of the $1 billion aid package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Pakistan is likely to be diverted toward funding these terror outfits. “Certainly, a significant portion of the one billion dollars coming from the IMF will be used to fund terror infrastructure,” he said.

The Defence Minister questioned whether this aid should be considered indirect funding by the IMF, an international organization, urging it to reconsider its assistance in light of these developments.
