Jammu, J&K: Retired Defence Expert Captain Anil Gaur has strongly criticized Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his recent tweet questioning the number of aircraft lost by India. Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Capt. Gaur termed Gandhi’s comments as irresponsible and alarmingly aligned with anti-India narratives.
“Unfortunately, the Leader of Opposition comes out with such statements which clearly resemble those issued by Pakistan or other hostile agencies,” said Capt. Gaur. “Pakistani media is prominently featuring his tweets. That alone should make us reflect on the consequences of such rhetoric.”
He further added that continually doubting the Indian Armed Forces and the government’s official briefings demonstrates a deep misunderstanding of national security and governance mechanisms. “Rather than acting as a responsible Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi appears to be speaking on behalf of those who seek to destabilize India,” Capt. Gaur said.
The retired officer highlighted that even internationally recognized military analysts like Tom Cooper have acknowledged India’s achievements. “When a neutral, independent expert like Tom Cooper validates India’s defence actions, questioning it from within the country seems not only foolish but deeply damaging,” he noted.
Capt. Gaur urged the Congress party to introspect and avoid politicizing national security. “It’s time Rahul Gandhi focused on strengthening the nation’s morale, not weakening it with such statements,” he concluded.
