New Delhi: Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda raised alarm in Parliament on Thursday over the deteriorating civic infrastructure in Gurugram, labelling the corporate hub as "Kudagram" due to persistent issues like waterlogging, sewage overflow, traffic congestion, and lack of cleanliness. Speaking during the Lok Sabha session, Hooda criticised the Haryana government and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for what he called a complete denial of reality.

Hooda said he questioned the government on the severe infrastructural and civic problems plaguing Gurugram, which is home to some of the country's top corporates and multinationals. However, in his response, former CM Khattar reportedly denied the existence of such issues. “These problems are well known to everyone, yet he denied them,” Hooda said.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he stated that around nine people have lost their lives due to incidents linked to poor civic conditions. Repeated traffic snarls and widespread urban mismanagement have turned the city into an everyday challenge for its residents, he added.
