New Delhi – During the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda raised pointed questions regarding the government’s decision to agree to a ceasefire with Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. He also sought clarification on the reported involvement of the U.S. President in facilitating the ceasefire.
“It is the question of the country,” Hooda said in the Lok Sabha. “The government also avers that our Armed Forces had brought Pakistan on their knees. Then on what conditions was the ceasefire brought? The country wants to know.”
He further stated that the military situation could have provided a strategic advantage. “It was a great opportunity to move to PoK. We could have reached the neck of the masterminds of JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) and LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba). Then why did the government step back?”
Hooda also referred to claims made by the U.S. President, who, according to him, has stated on multiple occasions that he played a role in brokering the ceasefire. “The U.S. President has said 28 times that he was behind the ceasefire. Then why is the government not denying it? If there is truth in it, it should be presented in front of the country,” he said.
