Daljit Chaudhary appointed DG, SSB

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, Centre appointed Daljit Singh Chaudhary, a 1990 batch IPS officer as the director general of Sashastra Seema Bal. Chaudhary is currently serving as special DG, CRPF and is known as an accomplished, tough and no nonsense officer.

The DG's post in SSB became vacant after incumbent Reshmi Shukla, a 1998 batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre was shifted to her parent state as the director general of police. SSB is significant as personnel are responsible for guarding India's frontiers with Nepal, Bhutan and China.
