Forget and forgive. Manipur politicians cutting across community lines are now appealing for peace. Although sporadic incidents are still continuing in Sugnu and surrounding areas of Imphal West, security forces and Army are slowly gaining control, engaging the underground militants in close encounters.

ANM News have accessed information about a large number of militants crossing over from Myanmar along the porous border. The racial divide between the two communities still runs large as burnt houses and mindless killings are etched in memory. With the state in turmoil and massive clamour for either a change of guard or President's rule, local residents are aghast at the apathy of the central government. According to Manipur residents, chief minister N Biren Singh should be removed immediately.

However BJP leaders are trying hard to bridge the divide with virtual number two in the cabinet Th. Biswajit Singh, spearheading relief work in the affected areas. ``We have been distributing food and dress materials and even books for school children. My earnest appeal to both communities is to forgive and forget and let's move forward,'' he said.
