Amid heightened India-Pakistan tensions following India’s military strikes under “Operation Sindoor,” senior Congress leader Pawan Khera accused Pakistan of persisting in its “misdeeds” by targeting civilian populations. Speaking in Delhi on Wednesday, Khera urged the global community to take serious note of the developments.

“Pakistan is still not ready to stop its misdeeds. They are still trying to attack civilian areas,” Khera said, condemning Islamabad’s alleged retaliatory actions after India struck terror camps across the border earlier this week.

Drawing a sharp contrast between the two nations' approaches, Khera stated, “Pakistan needs to understand that India has the technical security, we have more credibility. Because, unlike them, we are not targeting civilian areas.”

India has maintained that its recent strikes were focused, precise, and exclusively directed at terrorist infrastructure following the April 22 Pahalgam massacre that left 26 civilians dead. Pakistan, however, has accused India of civilian casualties and claims to have downed multiple Indian Air Force jets—claims New Delhi has not confirmed.

Khera emphasized the importance of international awareness and accountability in such conflicts. “The global community needs to pay attention to this,” he said, highlighting what he described as India’s restraint and commitment to targeted counter-terrorism measures.
