New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday sought an explanation from the government after reports emerged that Russia is supplying engines for Chinese-made JF-17 fighter jets to Pakistan. The party described the development as a setback for India’s strategic interests and called it a failure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personalised brand of diplomacy.

Congress leaders emphasized that Russia had long been considered one of India’s most reliable strategic partners. The party demanded clarity from the government on the measures being taken to safeguard India’s defence and strategic priorities.
