Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹2,251 crore in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) region. The initiatives are aimed at boosting infrastructure, industrial growth, and housing facilities in the district.

The programme also included the distribution of allotment letters for plots under GIDA’s residential and industrial schemes. Officials said the step is expected to provide a major push to both industrial expansion and affordable housing in the area, further strengthening Gorakhpur’s role as a regional growth hub.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the state government was committed to accelerating development and creating new opportunities for employment and investment. He highlighted the importance of Gorakhpur’s strategic location in eastern Uttar Pradesh and noted that the new projects would contribute to balanced regional growth.

The projects cover a range of sectors including infrastructure upgrades, industrial clusters, and residential development, designed to attract private investment while supporting local communities.
