Amid heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday reviewed the security and emergency response mechanisms in the state’s border districts. The review took place at the State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar, with key state and central agency officials in attendance.

In a post shared on social media, the Chief Minister stated that he had received a comprehensive briefing on the state administration’s ongoing coordination with central agencies to safeguard the well-being of citizens in the sensitive border regions. “Obtained detailed information about the steps being taken by the state administration in coordination with the central agencies for the citizen safety-related matters such as the availability of essential commodities, transportation, and communication systems,” Patel noted.

He emphasized the importance of proactive preparedness, directing officials to ensure that all systems—logistics, communications, healthcare, and law enforcement—remain fully functional and responsive in the event of any escalation.

Gujarat shares a border with Pakistan, making its western districts particularly sensitive during times of cross-border tension. Patel's directives are seen as a part of broader national efforts to tighten internal security and bolster civilian resilience as the situation evolves.
