India Post: Booking and delivery on the same day

BY A STAFF REPORTER: India Post will be delivering parcels on the same day of booking. The department has drawn up close cluster zones for streamlining of parcel delivery. Speaking exclusively to ANM News, Chief Post Master General of India Post, Neeraj Kumar mentioned that post men and other officials of the department have been working on the issue and devising systems for the last few months.

"We have started to initiate same day zone wise delivery on a pilot basis for sometime now and I can assure you that it has been a success", Kumar said. According to India Post, for the moment the project is being implemented in Kolkata with plans of venturing outside the city in the near future. People welcomed the initiative with many telling ANM News that this will change the mindset and planning of individuals. "It is very important that our parcels for the city get delivered on the same day. It will increase our speed of work and boost confidence on India Post", Sanjukta Saha, a local resident said.
