Center Provides 'Z' Security To CEC Rajiv Kumar Over Int'l Threats

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Central Government provided 'Z' category security CRPF cover to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar across all states in India on April 9, Tuesday.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Central Government provided 'Z' category security CRPF cover to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar across all states in India on April 9, Tuesday.

The move comes after CEC Rajiv Kumar received international threats. The center also provided 'Y' security to West Bengal BJP Candidate and former Calcutta HC justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay. Barrackpore BJP Candidate and former TMC MP Arun Singh has also been granted 'Z' security cover. 

The move comes ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The election will be held in seven phases beginning on April 19. Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since the announcement and will be imposed till the result declaration.
