Cabinet Approves Major Package to Boost India’s Shipbuilding and Maritime Sector

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Cabinet’s approval of a comprehensive package aimed at strengthening India’s shipbuilding and maritime sector. The initiative, described as a transformative step toward maritime self-reliance, is expected to significantly expand the country’s shipbuilding capacity and economic potential.

“In a transformative push for maritime self-reliance, the Cabinet approved a package to rejuvenate India’s shipbuilding and maritime sector. This historic move will unlock 4.5 million Gross Tonnage capacity, generate jobs, and attract investments,” PM Modi stated in a social media post.
