BY A STAFF REPORTER: Bharatiya Janata Party released its 10th list of candidates from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and West Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 10, Wednesday.
The BJP nominated Sanjay Tandon from Chandigarh and dropped the incumbent MP from the Chandigarh constituency, Kirron Kher. The BJP also fielded S.S. Ahluwalia from the Asansol Constituency. Moreover, the BJP released the names of seven candidates from Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, the BJP fielded Jaiveer Singh Thakur against SP-Congress alliance candidate Dimple Yadav in Mainpuri.
Kirron Kher served as the Lok Sabha MP from Chandigarh, Punjab since 2014. Chandigarh faced a huge political controversy over mayoral polls in January as the returning officer defaced eight ballot papers, resulting in the BJP's victory. However, the Supreme Court quashed the results and ruled in AAP-Congress candidate Kuldeep Kumar's favor.
