Delhi | BJP MP Dinesh Sharma hailed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s speech in the Rajya Sabha, stating that she effectively outlined the government’s development efforts while silencing the opposition with facts and figures.
“The Finance Minister enumerated at least 18 schemes, and it was remarkable how much funding was allocated to Telangana,” Sharma said, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in the construction of Medak station and the implementation of key schemes in the state.
He also highlighted the central government’s response during crises in Kerala. “In Kerala too, the BJP government worked effectively during times of disaster,” he noted.
Addressing the ongoing debate over fund allocations to West Bengal, Sharma stated that Sitharaman provided a detailed breakdown of the financial assistance given to the state. “She explained how much money was allocated to West Bengal, but the real question is—who is responsible for the undone work?” he remarked, indirectly holding the state government accountable.
According to Sharma, Sitharaman’s speech left the opposition struggling to mount a strong rebuttal. “She effectively dismissed the opposition, and for the first time, they were unable to raise any serious allegations or questions,” he asserted.
The Rajya Sabha Budget debate has witnessed intense exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition, with the BJP defending its fiscal policies while the opposition continues to challenge fund distributions and governance decisions.
