New Delhi, April 22: In a strong political statement, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj on Monday condemned the Congress party following the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) recent charge sheet, which reportedly implicates media-linked entities in financial misconduct.
“This is the first time that corruption has taken place in the fourth pillar of democracy—media,” Swaraj said, referring to the ED’s findings. She asserted that the development sheds light on the Congress party’s “old working style and ideology,” which she claimed involves manipulating public institutions for personal enrichment under the pretext of service.
“The charge sheet filed by the ED highlights how the Congress party has, in the past, turned democratic structures into tools for accumulating personal property. This is a very serious matter,” she added.
Swaraj demanded that the Congress party and its top leadership be held accountable, saying, “The Congress party and its top leadership are accountable for this.”
