BY A STAFF REPORTER: Pressure is mounting on Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh to resign. BJP sources in Delhi indicated that union home minister Amit Shah has sent the message to para military and other security officials and state political leadership that Manipur is on top of the agenda of the Modi 3.0 government. Incidentally BJP lost both the seats in the last Lok Sabha polls. The two candidates were handpicked by the chief minister and clamour for him to take moral responsibility is growing every day. ANM News has learnt that feelers have been sent to all BJP legislators of Manipur and other party leaders for a meeting to figure out an amicable way forward.
ANM News spoke to a couple of senior BJP leaders including ministers and they were unequivocal in mentioning that the only way out of the current crisis is immediate removal of Biren Singh as Chief Minister. ``The survival of BJP in Manipur is at stake and it will not take more than three months to renew confidence building measures and restore normalcy in the hills and valley,'' a minister serving in the current BJP government told ANM News.
