By A Staff Reporter
New Delhi: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, one of India’s astronauts, described the current phase of the country’s space journey as a “golden period” while addressing an event at Bharat Mandapam on National Space Day.
Highlighting the nation’s growing ambitions in space science and technology, Shukla said that with responsibilities now entrusted to Indian astronauts, it is their duty to deliver and push forward the country’s aspirations. He noted that the momentum built through recent achievements in satellite launches, lunar and planetary exploration, and human spaceflight programmes reflects India’s expanding role in the global space ecosystem.
The astronaut urged collective participation, saying that success in space exploration requires teamwork, innovation, and national support. His remarks came against the backdrop of India’s continued preparations for its human spaceflight mission, which has placed Indian astronauts at the forefront of one of the most ambitious scientific projects in the country’s history.
