Bikaner, Rajasthan: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Sunday expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure a full majority in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, citing development and good governance as the key issues driving voter sentiment.
“The major issue in Bihar’s elections is development and good governance. Under NDA’s rule, there has been visible progress in infrastructure, law and order, and welfare schemes,” Meghwal said, addressing reporters in Bikaner.
Taking a swipe at the Opposition, the minister recalled the tenure of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. “Lalu Prasad Yadav was an accused in the fodder scam, and now charges are being framed in the land-for-jobs case as well. Their way of working was entirely different,” he said.
Meghwal alleged that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) era was marked by “goonda raj” — a term often used to describe lawlessness — which, he claimed, is still remembered by the people of Bihar. “The rule of goons is still fresh in people’s minds. That is why I am fully confident that the NDA will form the government with a full majority,” he asserted.
With Bihar heading into elections in 2025, the political climate has begun to heat up, with both the NDA and Opposition blocs sharpening their campaign strategies around governance, corruption, and leadership credibility.
