Patna, Bihar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, alleging that Bihar’s reputation and progress suffered a massive setback during what he termed as “15 years of jungle raj.”

Addressing a public gathering, Shah said, “The period in which Bihar’s reputation declined… In just 15 years of ‘jungle raj’, Bihar lost its pride, wealth, and education.” He further criticized the celebration of Lalu Yadav’s release from jail, remarking, “When he came out of jail in a corruption case and a procession was taken out on an elephant, we could not understand this kind of shamelessness.”

The Union Minister claimed that industries that once thrived in Bihar after independence gradually left the state during that era. “That 15-year rule pushed Bihar back by almost half a century,” he added.

Shah also drew a parallel between the past and present political scenario, asserting that “the same jungle raj” is returning to Bihar “with new faces.” His remarks come ahead of the state’s upcoming elections, where governance, development, and corruption remain key electoral issues.
