Thiruvananthapuram: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday stated that India is on track to eliminate the threat of Naxalism by March 31, 2026, emphasizing the government’s continued focus on national security and internal stability. He made these remarks during a public address, where he also credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for delivering strong and swift responses to terrorism.

“India will be free of Naxalism by 31 March, 2026,” Shah declared, underlining the government’s roadmap to completely eradicate left-wing extremism through coordinated operations and development initiatives in affected areas.

He further stated, “Terrorism cannot be answered by anyone other than PM Modi and BJP,” pointing to specific instances where the government launched military responses following terror attacks. Referring to the 2016 Uri attack and the 2019 Pulwama attack, Shah said, “We answered Uri attack by surgical strike, Pulwama attacks by air strikes.” He also mentioned “Operation Sindoor,” noting that Indian forces acted decisively by “entering the house and striking back.”
