Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasising that India’s security forces will continue to have full freedom of action to counter any threat to peace and stability in the region.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shah said, “Due to the determined efforts of the security agencies, the terrorist network nurtured by enemies of the nation in Jammu and Kashmir has been almost crippled.” He highlighted that the relentless operations conducted by the Army, paramilitary forces, and local police have significantly weakened militant activities and disrupted their logistical and operational networks.
Shah assured that all necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and technological support, will continue to be provided to sustain and enhance these counter-terrorism efforts. He also stressed the importance of coordination between central and state security agencies to ensure the safety of civilians while maintaining law and order.
