Can Amit Shah restore peace in Manipur?

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit violence-hit Manipur. According to the Union Home Ministry, Amit Shah will visit Manipur from May 29 i.e. from today to June 1. If all goes well, Amit Shah will reach Imphal this evening. The Home Minister is expected to review the situation in the state. He is also expected to hold a series of security meetings on how to normalise the situation in the state. Meanwhile, as time goes on, the situation in Manipur is getting completely out of the hands of the state government. There is growing anger among the people about Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Manipur from May 29 to June 1. He will arrive in Imphal this evening. The Home Minister will hold several rounds of security meetings to assess the situation and plan further steps to restore normalcy.
