Top officials, including Lt. Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pande, NSA Ajit Doval, Director IB Tapan Deka and other Officials
The meeting is called due to the rising number of attacks on security forces in the Pir Panjal Region, including the Rajouri and Poonch districts.

The meeting will discuss the recent attacks consisting of Three civilians' deaths in the custody of security forces leading to an attack on security personnel followed by the death of four soldiers and injuries to three others at Dera Ki Gali in Thanamandi, Poonch on 21st December 2023
Along with this, other topics encompass considering holding Rural and Urban Local Bodies elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The five-year tenure of the Urban Local Bodies ended in November-December last year while the Panchayats are timed to end on 9th January 2024
