New Delhi/Kanpur – Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha on Monday that all three terrorists responsible for the recent Pahalgam terror attack have been killed in a counter-terrorism operation code-named Operation Mahadev. The announcement comes days after heightened security activity in the region, following the tragic attack that resulted in the loss of several lives, including that of security personnel Shubham Dwivedi.
Speaking in Parliament, Shah said, “The government is committed to ensuring national security and giving a fitting response to those who threaten the peace and integrity of the nation. All three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam incident have been neutralized.”
The operation was carried out by a joint team of security forces, including the Indian Army and paramilitary units, in coordination with intelligence agencies.
In Kanpur, Aishanya Dwivedi, the wife of slain security personnel Shubham Dwivedi, expressed a sense of closure and gratitude. “Today I am very happy to see that those involved in Pahalgam have been killed. This is a proud moment because it was very difficult to find them. I thank the army. Today I feel relieved. There should be no politics on this. I am proud of my army that they are keeping our country safe,” she said.
