Kolkata, June 6: Air India flight AI 301 (Call Sign: AIC301), a Boeing 787-8 aircraft bearing registration VTANW, operating from Sydney (YSSY) to Delhi (VIDP), was diverted to Kolkata (VECC) due to a medical emergency. The occurrence took place at 2026 UTC on June 5, 2025, corresponding to 01:56 IST on June 6, 2025.

The Airports Authority of India reported that the aircraft was given priority landing and medical assistance was arranged upon arrival. The aircraft landed safely on Runway 19L at Kolkata Airport at 2058 UTC (0228 IST). An ambulance and a doctor were present at the airport to respond to the medical situation immediately.

The nature of the occurrence was categorized as a diversion to another airport within India due to a medical emergency. The incident did not cause any reported operational impact. No additional information or remarks were recorded at the time.
