Ahmedabad, Gujarat | In the aftermath of the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash, authorities at the Civil Hospital have confirmed significant progress in the identification of victims. According to Dr. Rajnish Patel, Additional Medical Superintendent of the hospital, DNA matches for 31 victims have been successfully completed so far.

“We have handed over 12 of these bodies to their respective family members. The remaining are still at the hospital, and we are waiting for their relatives to come forward and collect the remains,” Dr. Patel stated in a briefing.

The fatal crash, which occurred earlier this week, has shaken the city and drawn national attention. Forensic teams have been working round-the-clock in coordination with central and state disaster response units to complete the laborious process of identification, especially as many bodies were badly charred or disfigured.
