Delhi: AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj has raised concerns over the Indian government’s decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Bharadwaj criticized the government’s approach, suggesting that its actions are more about optics than meaningful impact.

“The BJP-led central government has done PhD in optics. When they had to take revenge on China, they banned TikTok, not banned exports... Similarly, they did not take any action on Pakistan, but they took some decisions which will only harm India,” Bharadwaj said, questioning the effectiveness of the government’s moves.

He also pointed out the broader consequences of the suspension, stating that Pakistan's closure of airspace to India would ultimately harm India’s own interests. “Pakistan closed the airspace for India, which will only harm India,” he added.

Bharadwaj further raised questions about the security situation, asking, “Pahalgam is 200 km from the Indo-Pak border by road. How did terrorists enter Kashmir?” This comment underscores ongoing concerns about the infiltration of terrorists and the government’s ability to secure sensitive border areas.
