New Delhi | Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of intending to dismantle popular welfare schemes in Delhi if elected to power.
Addressing the media, Kakkar asserted that the BJP would end free bus rides for women, free electricity, and free water—initiatives introduced by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government. She emphasized that Kejriwal had consistently delivered on these promises and would continue to do so if re-elected.
Highlighting AAP’s commitment to social welfare, she added, "Arvind Kejriwal will also give ₹2,100 to women every month. Why is the BJP not against Parvesh Verma openly distributing money?"
On allegations of illegal voters in Delhi, Kakkar accused the BJP of enabling the presence of unauthorized individuals in the national capital. “If there are illegal intruders anywhere in the country, then they have been enabled by Amit Shah, and in Delhi, they have been enabled by Hardeep Singh Puri,” she claimed.
She further alleged that the BJP was attempting to remove legitimate voters from the electoral rolls in Delhi. “BJP is trying to cut the name of genuine voters from the voting list,” she remarked, calling for transparency in the electoral process.
These statements come amid an escalating war of words between AAP and BJP, as both parties gear up for a highly anticipated electoral battle in the capital. While BJP has yet to respond to Kakkar’s remarks, her comments underline AAP’s strategy of emphasizing welfare measures and accusing BJP of undermining democratic processes.
