New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has lashed out at Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini over his recent act of taking a sip from the Yamuna River, calling it a political stunt. AAP’s National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar accused Saini of merely pretending to drink the water before spitting it back, labeling the move as "cheap politics."
"This is so shameful that Nayab Singh Saini pretended to drink Yamuna water and then spit it back into the river," Kakkar said in a sharp rebuttal. "BJP is doing cheap politics. I would like to invite Nayab Singh Saini to the place from where the Yamuna water enters Delhi. I will give him one full glass of water to drink and will also ensure that he doesn’t spit."
The controversy over Yamuna pollution has escalated as political parties gear up for the upcoming elections. The BJP has repeatedly attacked the AAP government in Delhi for failing to clean the river, despite multiple promises by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. AAP, in turn, has blamed the BJP-led Haryana government for releasing untreated industrial waste and sewage into the river before it reaches Delhi.
