Panaji, Goa – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Atishi on Monday launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP government in Goa, alleging widespread corruption, deteriorating infrastructure, and public discontent. Speaking during her visit to Panaji, Atishi said the people of Goa are facing increasing hardship due to misgovernance and lack of accountability.
“The people of Goa are very troubled because of broken roads, garbage, and corruption in the government,” Atishi said. “Now it is not the outsiders who are speaking about corruption. Now the BJP's own ministers are talking about it.”
She referred to recent remarks allegedly made by a BJP minister claiming that bribes ranging from ₹15–20 lakh were required to get small government works approved. “When a BJP minister says that money has to be paid to get files passed, he is removed from his post,” she added, suggesting that whistleblowers within the party are being sidelined.
Positioning AAP as a rising alternative in the state, Atishi said, “AAP is standing strongly with the people of Goa as an alternative. It is raising the issues of the people of Goa, and the people of Goa are now troubled by the poor governance of the BJP. In the coming times, the people of Goa will definitely bring about change.”
