New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar on Tuesday raised concerns over India’s worsening pollution crisis, urging the central government to take decisive action without political motives.
"Now it seems that the problem of pollution has become very serious in the whole of India. The central government will have to deal with this with full responsibility, without doing any politics," Kakkar said. She pointed out that India now ranks third among the world’s most polluted countries, calling the situation “unfortunate.”
Highlighting the steps taken by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, Kakkar stated that both short-term and long-term measures were implemented in Delhi, leading to a 31% reduction in pollution, as acknowledged in the Economic Survey tabled in Parliament.
She emphasized that combating pollution is a shared responsibility, asserting that one government alone cannot resolve the crisis. The AAP government, she said, remains fully committed to fighting pollution but called for a unified national effort to address the environmental challenge effectively.
