16 Civilians Killed in Pakistani Shelling Across LoC, India Responds to Ceasefire Violations

In a significant escalation of hostilities, Pakistan has intensified unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC), leading to the deaths of 16 civilians, including three women and five children, in Jammu and Kashmir. The affected areas include Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri sectors. The Ministry of Defence reported that the Pakistani forces employed mortars and heavy-caliber artillery in these attacks. 

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, addressing the media, stated, "Pakistan has increased the intensity of its unprovoked firing across the LoC using mortar and heavy-caliber artilleries in areas in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir. Sixteen innocent lives have been lost, including three women and five children, due to the Pakistani firing."

In response to these ceasefire violations, the Indian Army has been granted operational freedom to take appropriate action to halt Pakistani artillery fire. The Indian forces have been closely monitoring the situation and have responded proportionately to the aggression
