First May Day celebrations in India

BY A STAFF REPORTER:  On May 1, 1923, in madras, India, the Hindustan Labour Kisan Party organized the first May Day. In Chennai, red flags were hoisted on the occasion of International Workers' Day. May Day is celebrated in more than 80 countries, including India. May Day is also celebrated as "Maharashtra Day" and "Gujarat Day". May 1 is celebrated as May Day or International Workers' Day across the country. Many organizations also celebrate this day through various programs.
