Important events in the state in 2023
Panchayat elections are the most important political event in the state. Tri-tier panchayat elections were held in 22 districts of the state on July 8, 2023. Panchayat election results were announced on July 11. TMC won most of the panchayat elections. On the other hand, there was widespread political unrest around the panchayat elections across the state.

In Visva Bharati, the state political party was strengthened by the Palak controversy. The World Heritage Plaque is placed by the Visva Bharati Authority in the University premises. Rabindra Nath Tagore was ignored on this case.  There were the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice Chancellor Bidyut Chakraborty. The people of the state reacted strongly to the incident. The political turmoil begins. The plaque was later demolished on the orders of the Ministry of Education.

State Forest Minister Jyotipriya Mallik was arrested by the central agency on 27 October 2023 in a ration corruption case. After nearly 21 hours of search and interrogation, the ED officials arrested him on October 27 at 3:20 am.

The movement of class IX to XII job seekers falls on 1000 days on 9 October 2023. Their demand should be given the appointment letter immediately.

Important political news in India in 2023
The G-20 summit was held in India this year. The G20 summit was held on September 9 and 10. Representatives of G-20 member countries came to New Delhi. India was praised in the meeting.

The opposition has formed an alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Named, Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance or India Alliance. The main objective of this political party is to overthrow the BJP-led NDA government.

Five state assembly elections were held this year. Assembly elections were held in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram. BJP wins in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. On the other hand, Congress won in Telangana and ZPM won in Mizoram.

TMC MP Mahua Maitra was expelled from Parliament in December this year. Due to which the country's politics became turbulent. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey alleged that Mahua Maitra asked questions in Parliament for money. Mahua Maitra's friend and lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai complained to Nishikant Dubey. Nishikant Dubey made that complaint public.
