Government removes Bidhannagar police chief

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The state government initiated the first reshuffle of police officers shifting Bidhannagar police commissioner Gaurav Sharma to STF and reinstating Mukesh Kumar. Incidentally Kumar was earlier Bidhannagar police chief before he was unceremoniously removed after a short stint.

D Koteswar Rao, Avijit Banerjee and Dhritiman Sarkar returned to their respective positions as Superintendent of police, of Sundarban, Purulia, and Paschim Midnapur districts.
