A Journey Through Silence: New Book Explores Dark Realities of Modern Deceit

By a Staff Reporter: Scars Beneath the Silence is a masterpiece that transcends conventional literary boundaries, offering a poignant exploration of the human experience through void, loneliness, love, lust, and betrayal. Each page serves as a testament to the transformative power of self-resilience. 

This book by well-known mental health expert Dr Paromita Bhattacharya was officially launched at Oxford Bookstores at a remarkable event. Guest of Honour, famous classical dancer Alokananda Roy spoke at length on her association with prison inmates and how she tries through dance and music to bring them back to the mainstream. A large part of the book involves real life stories of prison inmates and Oluwa, the Nigerian protagonist caught for fraud and online money laundering had been put behind bars in a prison of Kolkata. 

Saheli Mitra, Editor of the book and Managing Director of Tales, Talks & Walks spoke on how such books are needed for social awareness on how women are targeted through a web of love and deceit to be duped. Mumbai based lawyer Carlyta Mouhini spoke on the legal aspects of such frauds and how scamsters operate. 

Professor Julie Mehta brought forward fantastic stories of fraud she encountered in foreign lands including Singapore and Canada. While IRS Shahanshah Mirza gave thoughtful insights, along with Dr Jonaki Mukherjee who spoke on how seeds of lust and fraud are sown from childhood. She emphasized on proper parenting. Distinguished guests like Gynecologist Dr Gauri Kumra and Dhanwantary Medical Chain owner Rajen Khandelwal also graced the occasion. The book is designed by Tales Talks Walks and published by Exceller Books.
