By a Staff Reporter: Spreading the message of a cancer-free childhood, the Lions Club of Kolkata is set to organize LIONATHON 2.0, a special walkathon event dedicated to supporting children battling cancer. The event will take place on December 7 at Manoharpukur, Kalighat, and is expected to draw enthusiastic participation from across the city.
This year’s edition of the walkathon features three competitive categories designed to encourage fitness, awareness, and community participation; i.e – 1) 3 km Fun Walk, 2) 5 km Timed Run and 3) 10 km Timed Run.
According to the organizers, the primary objective of LIONATHON 2.0 is not merely a fitness initiative but a humanitarian effort to extend support—financial, emotional, and medical—to children suffering from cancer. Through this event, the Lions Club aims to inspire citizens to stand together in the fight against pediatric cancer and contribute to ensuring a healthier, hopeful future for young patients.

Participants, social welfare supporters are all invited to join the event, walk with purpose, and help transform young lives. The club believes that collective steps taken today can pave the way for a cancer-free tomorrow.
Registrations are expected to open soon, and organizers are anticipating a large turnout, given the growing awareness and support for childhood cancer initiatives in the city.
