India’s First Metro–Private Healthcare PPP Brings Affordable Kidney Care to Kolkata

The joint initiative between Metro Rail and Nephro Care India promises advanced kidney treatment services at affordable rates for the public.

The collaboration blends Metro Rail’s infrastructure with Nephro Care’s specialized expertise in nephrology. Spearheaded by leading nephrologist Dr. Pratim Sengupta, Nephro Care aims to serve over one million patients through 350 state-of-the-art renal care units across India.

Officials say the model could redefine public–private partnerships in the healthcare sector, making high-quality treatment more accessible and cost-effective for millions.
