By a Staff Reporter: Kolkata marked a milestone in healthcare on August 14, 2025, with the launch of the country’s first Central Government–private healthcare partnership (PPP) at Metro Rail’s Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital. The joint initiative between Metro Rail and Nephro Care India promises advanced kidney treatment services at affordable rates for the public.

The collaboration blends Metro Rail’s infrastructure with Nephro Care’s specialized expertise in nephrology. Spearheaded by leading nephrologist Dr. Pratim Sengupta, Nephro Care aims to serve over one million patients through 350 state-of-the-art renal care units across India.
