By a Staff Reporter: Sri. Amiya Nandan Sinha, IG-Cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Eastern Railway, inspected Sealdah station on 20th November in the back of recent high alert situations developed in the wake of Delhi terror attacks.
Sealdah being one of the busiest railway stations of the country, security arrangement has always been on top priority by RPF.
In this regard, Sri Sinha visited the station and inspected the present security arrangement and measures being utilized by the RPF at Sealdah station.

He has emphasized the meticulous monitoring of CCTVs and FRS based surveillance system, effective working of baggage scanners, staggered movement of inbound and outbound passengers, and other measures to boost security. He instructed to get the luggage checked through Scanning Machine in confidential manner so that contents of the luggage not be visible to other passengers.
Two additional Companies from RPSF have also been deployed at Sealdah Station.
Strict access control mechanism is put into effect for surveillance over any suspicious articles or persons of suspect.
He instructed to improve the lighting arrangement over the station circulating area so that visibility of CCTV feed is adequately noticeable.
Sniffer and explosives detection Dog- Squad has been ordered to be kept ready for utilization of checking of suspicious articles at station and trains.
Senior RPF officers of Sealdah division accompanied him during his inspection.
The public is appealed to remain vigilant over any suspicious activity that they may notice at railway station and alert authorities of the same.
