By A Staff Reporter: Don’t be surprised if you see a change in behaviour of the taxmen. Wondering what is it all about? Acknowledging that there have several instances of irrational behaviour and in an effort to improve interaction with public, Goods and Services Tax department has started a training on behaviour pattern of officials towards people.
Speaking exclusively to ANM News, principal chief commissioner of GST, Shrawan Kumar said the training process is aimed at improving personal relationship between officials and customers. According to senior officers of GST, it is not the intention of the government to harass customers.
“In many instances, traders and customers have complained of mistreatment. We wanted to draw a standard operating procedure and basic good behaviour patterns. The training will help in ensuring that officers are able to understand and educate the customers and traders in a proper manner,” the senior officer added. The training is being imparted by experts in behaviour pattern and GST officials hope a major change in future interactions.
