Gangasagar or Sagar Island is an island in the Ganges delta, lying on the continental shelf of Bay of Bengal about 100 kms South of Kolkata under South 24 parganas district in West Bengal state. It is not only a holy pilgrimage but an intricate intermingling of emotion and faith.
