BY A STAFF REPORTER: Artificial Intelligence and data science in a school curriculum? The central schools have stolen a march over schools from West Bengal and have already introduced it two years ago. Are the students ready ? Are we not stepping on the accelerator a bit too fast? Anish Sen studies in class eleven in a prominent CBSE school in Kolkata. ``Artificial Intelligence and data science sounds very interesting, but many of us are not not ready for such level of coding,'' he said. ANM News spoke to a few students from different other schools and all tend to agree with Anish. ``Interesting, but is it a step in the right direction?'' Teachers and principals have mixed opinions. ``I won't say students have overwhelmingly rushed for AI and data science in the last two years. These are early days and we see an interest level of 50 percent among students in AI and data science,'' said Arun Dasgupta, principal of Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir.  Teachers and parents strongly vouched for initiation of counselling students at an early stage and introducing career based education depending on the knack of the child.
